Piano tuning
Moving a piano can subtly affect its tuning. That is why we offer professional tuning as an optional add-on, so your instrument sounds as good as it looks when it arrives.
Caster cups
Caster cups under your piano protect your floors from the weight concentrated through its legs. Without them a piano can dent or scratch a floor, or mark it for good. They also stop it shifting or rolling, which matters most on a smooth surface.

These guys were phenomenal. My piano is a very large and heavy upright, that they had to move from a 2nd floor flat with no lift and narrow staircases, to a 2nd floor flat with no lift and tight head height. The three men worked like crazy to get it moved and well and truly earned their money. They took the necessary steps to protect the keyboard and were careful to avoid catching the walls. A great team with great attitude and camaraderie between them.

Common questions
How much does it cost to move a piano?
It depends on the piano, the distance and how hard it is to get in and out. A straightforward upright move locally is at the lower end, a grand going up two floors or across the country is at the higher end. Tell us the two postcodes and the floors and we will send one fixed price.
Can you get a piano up or down stairs?
Usually yes. We move pianos up and down stairs most weeks. If the staircase is narrow or turns tightly, send a photo with your enquiry, or ask us to come and look first. Finding out beforehand is always better than finding out on the morning.
Will my piano need tuning after the move?
Almost always. A piano goes out of tune when it moves and again as it settles into a new room. We recommend leaving it two to four weeks and then having it tuned. We can arrange that for you.
Are you insured?
Yes. Every move is covered by Goods in Transit and Public Liability insurance, from the moment we lift the piano to the moment it is in place.
